Oasis at Abbey Road - Photography by Jill Furmanovsky

For over 50 years, Jill Furmanovsky has captured some of the most iconic figures in music.

In October 1996, the legendary photographer and Abbey Road Music Photography Awards ICON winner shot Oasis in Abbey Road Studio Two as they began recording their third album, Be Here Now. In December 2007, she was back again to document the making of their final record, Dig Out Your Soul.

With unprecedented access, Jill was able to capture strikingly emotive images, recording the band’s raw energy, humour, and at times, their vulnerability. “Oasis permitted closeness,” she commented, “and that was a great gift to me as a photographer.”

To celebrate Oasis’ return to the stage this summer, we’re partnering with Jill and Rockarchive to present these rare photographs— exclusive to Abbey Road and never before sold in this format—which offer an intimate glimpse of the band at two pivotal moments in their career. They are now being exhibited as part of a brand new gallery fixture in the Abbey Road Shop.
