Recorded between Studios Two and Three over a single intensive spring and early summer in 1966, Revolver marked a decisive shift in The Beatles’ studio approach. Preparing to walk away from the demands of touring, the group set about redefining what a pop album could be, beginning a turn toward a more experimental mindset.

On one side, it features the rejected album cover design created by photographer Robert Freeman in 1966 - a picture-disc style collage of portraits taken of each Beatle from the 1964-5 period.
